Charity Shop Finds.

Hello again!

I feel like I havn't posted in ages! I've been super busy, mainly due to this:

I thought today I would write a little bit about some recent charity shop finds. I absolutely adore charity shops and car boot sales because you never know what you might find and you can get some gorgeous things for practically nothing! Sadly, I don't get to go to many car boots because there aren't many around where I live that I can get to easily (another reason why I need to pass my driving test asap!). However, the town near me is well known for being basically made of charity shops so I love going and having a rummage when I can.

On my last few charity shop visits I havn't really found too many nice things, but there have been a few gems which I thought i'd share...

I fell in love with the scarf as soon as I saw it so naturally I had too get it. I also thought the purse was cute and had a nice vintagey feel, and at £1.50 you can't really go wrong... The ring made a nice addition to my large jewellery collection!

No. 7 Hot Cloth Cleanser Review.

Hello again!

It has long been my view that in times of stress one should always indulge in a little pampering, and seeing as stress has been high on the agenda for me in the past few weeks due to college work etc, I thought I would treat myself to a new product. My first thought was that I wanted to try the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser as i've heard amazing reviews about it... but with it being around the £23-£24 mark I was a little reluctant to buy it.

However! Thanks to those trusty little £5 off No. 7 vouchers at Boots, I went to have a little snoop at the No. 7 counter last week and I found the 'Radience Boosting Hot Cloth Cleanser.' This retails at £9, but with my voucher was £4, so I practically snatched it off the shelf!

I've used this product several times now and I have to say i'm pretty impressed! The bottle itself is 200ml and the cleanser is so thick that only one pump is enough to cover your entire face, meaning that the bottle will probably last you quite a long time, depending on how often you want to use it of course.

The texture of the cleanser is really smooth and it feels really nice and fresh on your face. The instructions tell you to 'gently massage over dry skin in upward circular motions,' this itself is very relaxing and we havn't even got to the hot cloth bit yet! 

The cleanser comes with a muslin cloth which you are meant to run under comfortably hot water and put over your face in order to open your pores so the cleanser can work properly. This, in my view, is the only downfall of the product. The cloth is very nice and soft, but it is so thin that when applied it only stays hot for all of 30 seconds meaning you're left feeling like you've just got a cold damp flannel on your face. Not nice. However, the cloth IS good for the exfoliation part and my skin was left feeling very smooth and fresh afterwards.

Overall, I love this product. It is very easy to use and it gives wonderful results. My skin did really feel quite radient and refreshed after use. As I said, the only negative is the muslin cloth, so I think this product is maybe good for using while relaxing in the tub, as your pores will open because of all the steam and you wont need to sit with a cloth on your face...

A Quick Outfit Update.

Hello!
I hope you've liked my product reviews so far :)
I was in more of a fashion-y mood today so I thought I would put a hold on the reviews and do an outfit instead! I wasn't doing anything particularly special today what with it being Sunday so I chose an outfit which was cute but casual. It was also a bit chilly towards the end of the day so I added a chunky cardigan.
(Can I just apologize for the state of my hair, I ombred it recently and the ends have practically turned to straw! So at the moment it's pretty much unstylable without a lot of effort. Hmm time for a deep condition I think..)

Maybelline EyeStudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner Review

Another review for you! 

After a recommendation from a friend of mine, I recently bought Maybelline's 'EyeStudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner.' I found this product very interesting so I thought I would write a quick review of it here.

01 'Intense Black' Gel Eyeliner RRP £7.99

The packaging, which looks pretty impressive, contains a pot of the "gel formula" eyeliner and a small brush for application. The writing on the box promises that the liner is easy to apply, has intense colour and lasts for 24hrs. Sounds good, no?

Well, in my opinion this liner is indeed very easy to apply. The brush is the perfect flat shape for making both thick and thin lines which remain sharp, this makes it very easy to create different and interesting make up looks. The gel formula itself is very smooth and light, which is a good thing application-wise, but you have to be careful when loading up the brush because it's easy to stab the gel by accident and end up with a big lump of it on the end of your brush!

The colour, as stated on the box, is quite intense, but I sometimes find that I have to put on another layer to build up the black, especially with thicker lines (this could just be for me!)

I havn't been able to test the last claim fully as I take my make up off at night (obviously) and I havn't been pulling any all-nighters recently! :) But, that being said, it does tend to stay put pretty well when I am wearing it and I do feel that it would probably easily last for 24 hours.

Overall, I really do like this product becasue it is quite versatile and, in my opinion, is quite good value for money :D

Rimmel Nail Polish Review.

Hi again!

So my first review is of two nail polishes I bought recently, both are by Rimmel but one is from the 'I <3 Lasting Finish' collection and the other is from the '60 Seconds Nail Polish' collection. Their respective colours are 'Misty Jade' (045) and 'Instyle Coral' (415).

Personally, I think both the colours are gorgeous but my favourite is definitely Misty Jade. This one claims on Rimmel's website to be hardwearing and chip-resistant and I must say that it did last quite a long time without chipping off at the tips. The only negative thing I found was that it required at least three coats for a strong colour, so it's not really a 'paint and go' polish.

But that brings me to the other polish. This one had a specially shaped brush for easy application, which i loved, and it did dry really quickly just as it claimed to do. Again, this one needed more than one coat to build up a nice colour, but the fast drying formula made this less of a problem.

Overall, I really liked both of these nail polishes and will definitely be buying from Rimmel again, especially from the '60 Seconds' collection.
